Experimental Theatre in The Year of the Rabbit White Rabbit Red Rabbit
No rehearsals. No director. No set.
A different actor reads the script cold for the first time at each performance.
In March 2023 I performed in playwright Nassim Soleimanpour's experimental play White Rabbit Red Rabbit.
The play was co-produced by Assembly and Island Life Productions and performed at the beautiful Assembly Roxy in Edinburgh.
Collaboration in the Highlands and Islands. Hysteria! and The Sun Stands Still & Listens
A big ambition for 2022 was to spend more time working in the Highlands.
In Autumn, I had the opportunity to work on two collaborative theatre projects.
In September, I headed to the wonderful Lyth Art Centre as a performer-collaborator in Vivid Roots R+D project Hysteria!
Written by Annie MacDonald, the play explores contemporary gender inequality in medicine through the lens of hysteria.
The R&D explored the themes of HYSTERIA through play and improvisations, producing live stimuli for the commissioned playwright.
Then in October I had the chance to work for Mull Theatre & An Tobar on
The Sun Stands Still and Listens.
Through improvisation and script-work, writer-director Catriona MacLeod led a two-week development process to create a contemporary Christmas play.
